The work of collecting in Wildeck Castle

The public perception of every museum is determined by exhibitions and events that attract the public. A significant part of the tasks of our museum usually remains hidden from the public. The collecting happens behind the scenes in order to research it for posterity and to save it from decay or annihilation. The results of the work in this area form the basis for exhibiting and communicating.
For some time now, the collection at Wildeck Castle has been targeted and serves to expand, merge and supplement the existing collection.
The objects shown do not meet these criteria because they do not fit the museum's collection profile. The scientific knowledge is not available due to the missing history of origin.
